UBC Okanagan Sunshine Café & Sunroom

The Project

A renovation of one of UBC Okanagan's primary student gathering spaces into a warm, inviting environment for dining, studying, collaboration, and campus events. The project refreshed the cafeteria and adjoining sunroom with high-performance wood-look resilient flooring, patterned carpet tile, updated finishes, and comfortable lounge seating. Inspired by the surrounding Okanagan landscape, natural wood tones and neutral finishes create a welcoming atmosphere with the durability required for a heavily used campus space.

SAGE’s Role

Working with the project team, SAGE provided comprehensive interior design consulting including programming, space planning, finish selection and specifications, flooring design, furniture selection and coordination, lighting coordination, technical documentation, consultant coordination, and construction administration, creating a flexible, welcoming environment that supports campus life.
